Discord privileged intent reviews: what changed
Discord now reviews privileged-intent access for larger apps. Here is what that means for TicketCord custom bots.
The short version
Discord changed when apps need review for privileged gateway intents. The threshold is now based on how many unique users your app can reach across installed servers, not only how many servers the app is in.
If your app is under 10,000 reachable users, Discord says you can keep using the Developer Portal toggles. Once your app reaches 10,000 reachable users and uses privileged intents, Discord can ask the application owner or team to complete a review.
Why this is happening
Privileged intents can expose sensitive server, member, and message data. Discord says the review process exists to make sure apps only request access they actually need, and to reduce unnecessary or abusive access across the ecosystem.
Are TicketCord users affected?
Yes, but only larger custom bots are likely to see it. If your TicketCord custom bot is installed in communities that put it over Discord's 10,000 reachable-user threshold, and the bot uses privileged intents, Discord may ask you to submit the review form in the Developer Portal.
Smaller servers usually do not need to do anything unless Discord shows a prompt for their application.
What to do if Discord shows the prompt
- Open the Discord Developer Portal for your bot application.
- Read the questions carefully and answer for your own server or community.
- Explain that the bot is used for Discord support tickets, staff workflows, transcripts, modmail, and optional AI assistance where you have enabled it.
- Use your own server privacy policy as the primary policy if you have one. You can also link TicketCord's privacy policy as the platform that processes the ticket system.
- Add screenshots or short videos when Discord asks for proof. Show the ticket panel, ticket channel, dashboard configuration, and AI settings if those features are enabled.
Need help wording it?
Open a TicketCord support ticket and include a screenshot of the exact Discord question. We can help you phrase answers, but your submission should still describe your own server truthfully.
